Host ISEEN at Your School

We are excited to announce that we are now accepting proposals for our future events both for events for the 2020-2021 academic year and the 2022 Winter Institute host site.

We have many exciting opportunities for ISEEN members to connect with each other and we’d love to partner with you to highlight your school.

We invite member schools with well-established, innovative and exciting experiential ed programs to submit proposals by Friday, March 13th!

Follow the links to learn about the opportunities and/or submit a proposal.

  • Winter Institute 2022 Proposal – For 15 years, the Winter Institute has been our bread and butter experience that engages experiential education practitioners and leaders in transformational professional development. This proposal is open to member schools with established and innovative experiential education programs that want to showcase the amazing work they are doing in their home community.

  • 2021 Winter Institute Pre/Post Workshop Proposals –  The time before and after the Winter Institute provides an opportunity for deeper work and reflection on specific topics of interest for educators. Past topics have included purpose learning, risk management, designing ethical global programs, The Mastery Transcript Consortium, place-based learning, and creative tours of the host city. (Check out examples from the 2019 and 2020 Winter Institutes). We invite you to propose workshops for the January 2021 Institute in Sedona, Arizona. We encourage submissions to consider the 2021 Institute theme, “Belonging to our Place: Stewardship, Well-Being, and Heritage” which will explore various elements of belonging including the independent school’s role in being a responsible part of the place in which they reside and creating a sense of belonging for all students.

  • 2020-2021 Regional Gathering Proposals – After a successful inaugural one-day Regional Expedition at Hotchkiss School’s Fairfield Farm in Fall 2018 and a popular Spring 2020 expedition in March, we are excited to continue offering more of these gatherings around North America. We’re aiming to hold at least one expedition during the 2020-2021 academic year in regions we haven’t held them (we’re looking at you Southern, Midwestern, and West Coast folks). If you would like to meet with others in your geographic region and you are able to welcome around 20 or so participants to at your school, you should submit a proposal for a Regional Gathering. ISEEN will help with the entire program.

We are excited to receive and review your proposals. We know that you are all doing incredible work and we look forward to finding ways to involve you in ISEEN’s future programming. If you have any questions at all about hosting ISEEN at your school, please email [email protected].
